Stargazing
with Jim Zebrowski,
President of the Aldrich Astonomical Society, Inc.
Friday, Aug. 28th
7:30 p.m.
Otter River State Forest Beach
(off Route 202, just after the Templeton line)
Mr. Zebrowski will have an 8-inch Dobsonian telescope set up for public viewing, along
with large binoculars on a binocular mount. Telescope viewing of the Moon will begin at approximately 8 p.m. Stargazing will take place after 8:30 p.m. when the first stars
become visible. All are welcome.
Bring: blankets, flashlights, (if you have them) binoculars, and/or telescopes.
Warning: If you need to us bug spray, PLEASE do so before arriving at the beach. Sprays
can damage the precision optics of telescopes & binoculars, and cloud eyepieces!
Presented by the Aldrich Astronomical Society, in collaboration with the
Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, and Winchendon’s
Beals Memorial Library, as the final chapter in the 2009 Summer Reading Program, Starship Adventure.
